Open Letter to Caitlin Johnstone

Dear Caitlin Johnstone,

I recently read your article entitled “Why I don’t talk more about 9/11”.  I quickly had to Google you because, being an independent 9/11 researcher for the last decade or so, I had never heard of you.  I don’t get out much, and don’t have much free time, but what little time I do have is often spent researching, writing about, and making videos about 9/11.  According to Wikipedia you, Ms. Johnstone, are the self-published author of “Woke,” a book I haven’t read (yet).  You describe yourself as a “Rogue Journalist,” among other things.  Rogue Journalist.  Forgive me but that’s a laugh.

Any rogue journalist worth her salt would have seen through the disinformation of the 9/11 truth movement ten years ago.  You admit you don’t know exactly what happened on 9/11.  You then accuse anyone who claims to know with absolute certainty exactly what happened on 9/11 as being “fulla shit.”   Well duh.  The same can be said about anyone who claims to know with absolute certainty exactly what happened at any historic event.  Everyone knows that.  Babies know it.  My dog knows.  I’ll bet all life forms are conceived with a BS meter that trips one of those Star-Trek alarms, or maybe cramps and bad smells, as soon as someone claims to know anything with exact and absolute certainty.  You, Catlin, are the mistress of understatement.  

You point to James Corbett’s humorous video which highlights all the well-known 9/11 tidbits that anyone who ever scratched the surface of the official story is already familiar with.  But really, a 9-year old video is the pinnacle of 9/11 Trutherdom?   That stings.  I guess I should just take down my shingle and go home.  Apparently all we have to do is agree that the official story is a bunch of bunk and our work is done.  Scholars the world over will be so relieved to know they needn’t bother studying what actually happened (the truth), because all that matters is what didn’t happen (the official story).  You write:

“Corbett made this video eight years ago on the tenth anniversary of 9/11, and to this day I believe it’s the strongest and most irrefutable case against the official narrative.”

You are confusing the act of refuting the official narrative with “the truth.”   Most rank and file Truthers also make this mistake.  But you’d think a Journalist would know better.  I’m guessing you’re a Rogue Journalist in the same way Christopher Bollyn is a Well-Traveled one.  You go on to say that you’re giving up on hacking at the root of the problem, deciding instead to hack at the branches.  The reasons for your change of heart (don’t say apathy), are twofold:

“Firstly, the narrative control battle has already been decisively won by the other side. The mainstream understanding is that anyone who talks about what really happened on 9/11 is a crazy crackpot who must not be listened to, because the establishment narrative control campaign to discredit and demonize critical thinking on the subject succeeded many years ago. If today’s ubiquitous internet access had happened to coincide with 9/11 and the grassroots push to find out the truth behind it, that narrative control would have been far more difficult if not impossible for the establishment to shore up. But the timing didn’t work out that way, and now the narrative is fully locked down except in the margins of discourse which have no effect on the mainstream.”

Aw, shucks.  Don’t want to be looking crazy to the rest of the world or anything.  Can’t sell any books that way, eh?  I thought Aussie’s were supposed to be all “Crocodile Dundee” and shit, or is that only in the movies?  In real life they sell out and follow the crowd just like everyone else. 

I don’t blame you for not having the patience and dedication to wade through 18 years of the lies and disinformation belched out by the truth movement, the media and the governments of all nations, but don’t throw under the bus those of us who have dedicated their lives to setting the story straight.  9/11 Truth isn’t dead by any means.   What’s dead is your interest in the truth.  Instead of bemoaning that the government has already won the war for our hearts and minds, you could use your position as a journalist to shed a little limelight on those of us who haven’t given up.

Corbett’s video is only 5 minutes long.   Perfect for those with short attention spans, but short on details, and only leaves the viewer with more questions.  It is very effective at demonstrating how silly the official story sounds, but that’s all it does.  It doesn’t attempt to use what facts we do have to explain what happened. 

Moving on to your second reason for giving up the ghost:

“ Secondly, even if there were some way to show everyone in the western world the truth of what happened on 9/11, the establishment propaganda machine would immediately narrative manage the problem away. The operation would be blamed on rogue actors, maybe a few powerful establishment loyalists would face consequences (though probably not) and be replaced with other establishment loyalists, and then the imperial propaganda machine would pace everyone into an understanding of why it’s still right and necessary to support the US-centralized empire and its globe-sprawling war machine. The status quo would march on essentially undisturbed. This is one hundred percent guaranteed as long as the empire still has a functioning propaganda engine.”

So your solution is to play into their hands by not talking about 9/11?  Wow.  How Rogue of you. Don’t take us down with you, okay?

Seven Years ago the 9/11 Crash Test Project was introduced to the 9/11 Truth Movement. 

In the spirit of the “Mythbusters” show, the idea is to mount a real section of wing from a 767 on a rocket sled, and collide it at 550+ MPH with steel box columns built to the same specifications of the World Trade Center, at the point of impact.  My colleagues and I are attempting to prove, or disprove, a hypothesis, something no other truth group dares to attempt.  By using physics, and empirical experimentation, we can prove the jet impacts were faked by the media, but proving what didn’t happen is only part of the project; if we ever do manage to get rocket-sled test center time, we will also attempt to prove what did happen.  We will do this by using the photographic evidence we all have at our disposal, to recreate the damage as found.

A genuine forensic investigation begins with examining the evidence at the crime scene, but this is evidence the truth movement won’t touch.  Obviously, if the popular groups are under control, then logically the truth will be found where they fear to tread; the impact holes at all three 9/11 sites.  Identify how they were cut, and you will identify the most likely suspects.

9/11 Crash Test proposes diverting a tiny portion of the millions of dollars the American truth groups accept annually, to prove once and for all, whether or not what we were shown on television depicted a real event.  For a fraction of what AE911T collects every year, we could eliminate the “no planes” contention altogether, and in the process, eliminate a major hurdle in uniting the opposition under one banner.  Seizing this opportunity would demonstrate to the world that the disparate 9/11 Truth Groups can work together to apply the scientific method to solve problems, which would instantly change the public impression of the movement from one of tinfoil-hat wearing nutters, to one of serious peace activists capable of challenging the status quo.  Personally, I can think of no greater problem that needs solving than 9/11’s endless War on Terror.

9/11 Crash Test is just one example of an idea that can stop the impasse, and inertia, of the 9/11 Truth Movement.  I’m sure there are other ideas.  The truth movement you’re familiar with continues to sign the same petitions and follow the same leaders in circles. A clear sign of madness.   Something needs to change, granted, but please don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater.  9/11 Truth is still alive and well, but we’re called “historians” now.  Our jobs would be easier without dissing from Rogue Journalists.
