The aerial views (pics 1, 4, 8) seem to indicate that the charred trees zone is unaligned with the gash, which I interpret as the trajectory of the nose of the missile (as per the pages “Taboo Truths: Uncovering Flight 93” and “How the Shanksville Crater was made” on this blog). Not sure what to make of it. Did the warhead bounce off the ground as well, taking a trajectory off by 30° from the one taken by the nose, and detonate among the trees? Uncertain reconstruction.
